Uplifting and dignifying young girls and women
Ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to thrive and make informed choices about their reproductive health and livelihoods
To uplift and dignify young girls and women, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to thrive.
A world where every girl and woman has access to sustainable sexual reproductive health solutions and economic empowerment opportunities.
Founded by Diana Nthenya, Beyond Borders – For Her was born from lived experiences and a deep desire to create lasting change for girls and women.

"Empowering girls and women through reproductive justice and equality"
In 2023, I made a decision to volunteer with a non-profit organization in Mathare. It was during this time that I witnessed, first-hand, the deeply rooted challenges girls and women face around menstrual health. I remember during one of the early school outreach visits, I saw a young girl quietly leaving school. Curious, I asked a teacher, who explained that the girl had just started her period. Since the school had no sanitary pads to offer her, she had to go home. I later realized she didn't return to class for four days. That moment stayed with me.
Moved by these experiences, I mobilized resources and organized my first-ever sanitary pads drive, impacting three schools and over 1000 girls. While we continued to hold several more drives in the months that followed, it became clear to me that pad drives, though impactful, only offered short-term relief. This realization led to deeper conversations within the community — and by December 2024, we mobilized ourselves to formally register an organization called Beyond Borders – For Her, dedicated to advancing reproductive justice and equality. This also gave us the opportunity to scale our impact sustainably.
